About me
As a recent grad of Chapman University, Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in “Virtual and Physical Production Design."
This is a self-designed major that includes the study of production design in both live-action film and animation. My interest in production design began in high school at Cate School in Santa Barbara, where I was selected for the Digital Arts Award, and commissioned to direct, edit, and co-shoot their admissions video.
During 2021 and 2022, I interned at M2 Studios & VR, developed and conceptualized ideas for VR applications, researched industry trends, and worked hands-on in Unity. During the fall of 2022, as the Professor’s Assistant for a VR/AR production course, I taught students and lectured on Unity and Blender. Most recently, I interned at Blumhouse Productions and assisted with script coverage, and administrative tasks.
My primary interest is around production design and I have consistently been involved with virtual and physical Production Design opportunities at Dodge by working on thesis and advanced student productions. I have created on-stage sets by designing on Sketchup and building them in sound stages. I also designed a virtual set that was shot against Dodge’s Unreal LED wall.
While I thrive in collaborative environments, I’m very comfortable doing independent creative computer work. In my personal projects, I build virtual environments to create short narratives from a female perspective. My work includes nostalgic storylines within ethereal landscapes and hyperreal environments. In addition, internet culture, trends and its effects on adolescence often influence my storytelling.
Unreal Engine is the primary program I use to create virtual environments, although I also use Sketchup, Blender, Marvelous Designer, and Substance Painter to create assets and characters. When working on physical environments, I have designed floor plans and elevations and decorated interior spaces.
I hope to find job opportunities in virtual production for films, television, and video games where my experience, creativity and visual sensibility are valued.
